UKPONG-UDO, ORS BAG UNITED NATIONS PEACE AWARD
The member representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in the House of representatives, Hon. (Obong) Emmanuel Ukpong-udo was among fifteen patriotic Nigerians honoured yesterday, September 20th, during the 2019 United Nations International day of peace Celebration held in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State Capital. The United Nations international day of Peace which is commemorated annually on the 21st of September has as its theme for 2019: “Climate Action for peace”
The epoch event saw the federal lawmaker conferred with the Ambassador of peace (Amb. P) Award by the United Nations Intl. Day of peace Committee, Nigeria in association with the World Peace Prayer Society and affiliated to the Public Information unit of the United Nations.
The award is a timely testament to the credentials of the health and safety juggernaut who is reputed for being an advocate of unity, cordiality and peace.
Others who were awarded with either Ambassadors of Peace award, Justice of Peace Award and messenger of Peace award at the event which took place at the Governor’s Office Annex, Wellington Bassey way, Uyo, were; Benue State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria – Rev Dr Augustine Akpen, Provost of Kano State college of Health Sciences- Alhaji Dr. Salisu Indabawa, Chairman of Wudi Local Government Area in Kano State , Ukanafun Council Chairman in Akwa Ibom State, member Representing Wukari in Taraba State House of Assembly, Akwa Ibom State commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs- Hon Udo Ekpenyong, former Chairman of Ukanafun LGA- Hon NsikanAbasi Umoekpo, Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency, Prince Ikim, Mr Harrison Essien of Akwa Ibom Broadcasting corporation (AKBC), amongst others.
