Nsit Ibom people from all walks of life, led by the member representing the area at the State House of Assembly, Hon Ifiok O. S. Udoh, thronged the Victor Attah International Airport, Saturday, to give one of their own, Obong Victor Umondak, a heroic welcome from medical trip.
Obong Umondak, a former Chairman, Nsit Ibom Local Government Council who holds the title of Obong Mkparawa Nsit Ibom, was beset by a life-threatening malady and flown overseas where he spent several months.
Addressing his mammoth supporters and the creme-de-la-creme upon his arrival, the former Council boss, who was adorned with a T-shirt with the inscription, “Thank You Lord”, expressed his gratitude to God for preserving his life even as he urged people to get closer to God at all times.
He specifically thanked his boss and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel for his support, personal calls and prayers throughout his trying moment.
Umondak, who at a point was moved to tears, eulogized innumerable numbers of stakeholders in the State, his friends and associates, especially his lawmaker at the State House of Assembly, Hon Ifiok Udoh, prayed God to guide and protect sons and daughters of the State during and after the Yuletide.
He also used the occasion and called for maximum support and cooperation to the completion agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel, whom he said has given Akwa Ibom people overdose of what he promised them in 2015.
Meanwhile, the Obong Mkparawa Nsit Ibom had a filled day with his people at his Uyo abode, where prayers, songs, praises and prayers were offered to God for preserving his life.
