If the people of Itu and Ibiono Ibom federal constituency are serious about producing the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State come 2023, they have a responsibility of praying and seeking God’s grace to be favoured.
This is because the Maintain Peace Movement of the PDP family is ready to stand by any aspirant that God reveals to Governor Udom Emmanuel ahead of the 2023 Governorship election in the state.
This was the position of the Chairman, Maintain Peace Movement, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem when the MPM train arrived Ibiono Ibom, Thursday to inaugurate the local government steering committee of the movement.
He said the PDP family is fully disposed to supporting such a candidate to emerge as Governor Emmanuel’s successor, provided that candidate hails from Uyo Senatorial District.
Enoidem thanked the people of Ibiono Ibom for being supportive of the Udom Emmanuel led government and the PDP, saying the MPM train was in the area to preach the message of peace and sued for their continuous support to the Governor in his completion agenda.
He charged the steering committee to inagurate the ward coordinating committees of the body in the local government area.
Meanwhile, stakeholders in the local government area say they are completely in support of the governor’s peace Maintenance effort and his completion agenda
Stakeholders who spoke at the council Secretariat at Okoita during the inauguration of the MPM steering committee included, the National Assembly Member representing Uyo Senatorial district, Senator Bassey Albert, the Coordinator of MPM in Ibiono Ibom, and Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Barr. Ini Ememobong, Secretary of the movement in the area, Dr. Iniobong Essien who is the Chairman, Ibom Airport Development Company, IADC, and the local government Chairman, Mr. Polycarb Ekopimoh, and they all assured the Governor of their unflinching support towards his completion agenda.
Senator Albert who stressed the need for Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency to be favoured for the Governorship position, said he completely aligns with the idea behind the formation of the Maintain Peace Movement, MPM.
“I share in the sentiments of this group(MPM). I believe God would give justice to the people of Ibiono/Itu Federal Constituency”.
Senator Albert said he stood for peace and justice when he supported Eket Senatorial District from 2015 till date, and appealed that Itu/Ibiono people be considered for Governorship in the next dispensation.
In his acceptance speech, the local government Coordinator of MPM in Ibiono Ibom, Barr. Ini Ememobong assured of the commitment of the local government area to the ideals of the movement.
Barr. Ememobong who is the Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the State, said the message of the MPM is boldly engraved in the area.
“We have received the message of peace and we engrave the message of peace in Ibiono Ibom”.
Secretary of the movement in the area, Dr. Iniobong Essien re-echoed the preparedness of the people of Ibiono Ibom to the sustenance of the peace being enjoyed in the state.
MPM Steering committee for Ibiono Ibom local government area has Barr. Ini Ememobong, Commissioner for Information and Strategy as Chairman while the Secretary is Dr. Iniobong Essien, Chairman, Ibom Airport Development Company.
Other Members include, the House of Assembly Member for Ibiono Ibom, Hon. Godwin Ekpo, Chairman, Ibiono Ibom local government Council, Hon. Ekopimoh Policap, former House of Assembly Member, Rt. Hon. Ime Okon, State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Borono Bassey, Miss.Menyene Archibong, Emmanuel Etim, Mrs. Rose Eno, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matters, Comrade Aniefiok Iwaudofia, Mr. Blessing Daniel, and Etebong Idiong.
Those to serve as Advisers include, former Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Ignatius Edet, Otobong Akpan, Chief Israel Utit, Mkpisong Ememobong Essien, Bassey Ekerette, Hon.Charles Bassey, Mr. Etop Idung and Hon. Idorenyin Umoh.
Others include, Mr. Emmanuel Etim, Affiong Ikpeme, Otobong Akpan and Prince Patrick.
