The member representing Ini State Constituency in the State Assembly and Chief whip of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ekpeyong today passed a vote of confidence on the member representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-udo for his superlative performance so far in the Green Chambers.
Speaking at a reception for guests at the burial of the late Paramount Ruler of Ini, His Royal Majesty, Edidem Apostle (Dr) Ntoeng Udo Effiong Akpan JP, the highly elated Ini House member lauded the Ikono/Ini Representative for always physically identifying with his constituents and commended him for his down to earth disposition, open door policy of leadership and people-sensitive representation which has continued to greatly endear him to the people of the area.
“I thank God for giving us a very accessible, friendly and grassroot-oriented representative. We’ve never had it this good. I don’t regret supporting you to ascend that highly exalted position. I must confess you have performed exceedingly well and represented us meritoriously so far and we are proud of you. I hereby pass a vote of confidence on you”, he said
Rt. Hon. Bassey prayed God to grant Hon. Ukpong-udo the grace and fortitude to continually deliver dividends of quality representation to his people.
In his response, Hon. Ukpong-udo thanked the Ini State House Member for the soothing endorsement and promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him by the electorate.
In his address earlier to youths of Itu Mbonuso Ward 3, Ukpong-udo lauded the departed Ini Monarch, for contributing so much to the lives of those who came his way and for playing a stabilizing role during the last elections. He described his demise as a big loss to the constituency.
Speaking further, the federal lawmaker appreciated them for their unwavering support to him and immense contribution to the successful burial of the Monarch while promising to come back and thank them specially for their role in his victory at the polls.
