Youths are known to be leaders of tomorrow in their capacity as people that can impact on the society effectively if given proper guidance, protection, encouragement and support to move ahead in life.
These are some of the things leaders worldwide have not really given credence to and hence as caused a good number of young men and women going astray in their life pursuit and future endeavors.
In my careful analysis of leaders in this part of the world, I have recently discovered the credence a leader and public office holder has given to young persons to ensure their future is bright and that they have a bright and rewarding future, this is seen clearly in the representation of the Chairman Local Content Committee and Member, Abak Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt(Hon)Emmanuel Ekon.
Since he assumed office in 2011, Mr Ekon has always thought of programs he should do to encourage young men and women from his constituency to be leaders of tomorrow and good ambassadors of the constituency, being a believer of the popular saying that when you build the youths, you build the nation, hence his extensive thought of actively engaging young men and women from his constituency through his lofty programs, brought forth the construction and first class equipping of an ultra modern ICT Center, first of its kind in the whole country, this lofty project and wonderful edifice was situated across all the Local Government Areas in the Federal Constituency, which all has been made judicious use of and youths trained on the prerequisite for today’s basic ICT knowledge acquisition, a project that has touched lives of many of his constituents, youths in particular and have prepared them for a better tomorrow. From the same essential ICT training, it is also on record that a good number of youths from the area have benefited enormously from, this was done as the Honorable member foresaw what the future holds in store in terms of the evolving trend in technology, hence that dream has brought forth Jamb examination which today is being written with the aid of ICT, with this development, the youths of Abak federal constituency are not lacking behind in such evolution, hence many youths of the constituency have had admissions on higher institution of learning through the future foreseeing and the able leadership of the Abak federal spokesman in the green Chambers of the National Assembly.
Another important aspect that the Abak federal constituency representatives has undergone that has indeed built the youths is the engaging them and assistance in employment of the youths of Abak federal constituency in Government agencies, department and parastatals which a good number of young men and women have been meaningfully engaged in various capacities, one of which I saw during my findings, a young man from Ika, who was assisted by Mr Emmanuel Ekon, this said young man is about 26 years of age, one will wonder what hold the fate of this Abak young immigration officer at the age of 50, of course, other things being equal, he shall hold office as Comptroller of Immigration courtesy of the fabulous representation of Mr Ekon, apart from this young man, more than 100 youths of the constituency have been meaningfully employed and hence earn a living not begging for a living, credit must be given to Mr Ekon for looking beyond now but the future.
Yes,also recently during the 2017 Jamb registration, it shocked all from the constituency that Emmanuel Ekon’s effective representation was also extended to the jambites form the constituency who were assisted in the purchase of jamb forms to ensure that Abak youths have sound and quality education in tertiary institutions. for those that had purchase the form already, the magnanimity of Mr Ekon was extended to them as he gave our financial support to them to ensure they have a sense of belonging courtesy of the impactful leadership of Mr Ekon and all smiled home on that very day and prayed for God to bless him abundantly.
Also, the Oil and Gas Training undergoing in Lagos,Nigeria is also a testimony of the superlative representation of Mr Ekon, up on till today, more than 100 youths from the constituency are being trained in oil and gas which they are paid to assist them in their training, the said training is being undertaken in different numbers and all are also bring carried in his leadership and representation. Of course, this training is made possible through the track records of Mr Ekon and his duty of responsibility as Chairman, Local Content Committee in the 8th House of Representatives.
Conclusively, in uniting Abak federal constituency, Ekon’s leadership style of carrying all along has kept an indelible mark in the sands of time, as his constituents see him as a detribalized leader as he sees all as his own self and has done everything within his power to ensure that everyone is indeed happy According to him, he sees his federal constituency as paramount to him and he should carry all along in his activities and representation.
Emmanuel Ekon’s representation has been rated as the best in this part of the world and he has indeed uplifted the youths and united the entire Abak federal constituency in his superlative representation and people oriented leadership.
Amaechi Vows To Release Names Of Those Sabotaging Security
Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has said that cabals are frustrating the recently approved $198m maritime security contract.
Amaechi vowed to publicly mention names of saboteurs while speaking at a Maritime Stakeholders’ Interactive Forum held in Warri, Delta State on Thursday.
He said “Reason, why vessels will not come to the Eastern ports, is because there is war insurance due to insecurity in the ports here.
“The war insurance means if the goods cost N10,000 in Lagos, it will cost N20,000 here because there is an extra cost on it due to Insecurity issues. Even as a minister, I can’t enter a boat ride from Warri to Port Harcourt due to insecurity issues, but I can move around Lagos at any time of the day.
“I once asked a former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, why people from Anambra don’t import from Port Harcourt port, and he said it cost less to import from Lagos and move to Onitsha even with the price they pay on the road. It is cheaper to import from Lagos to Aba, yet Aba to Port Harcourt is a 30-minute drive.
“For shipowners, you need to do a petition to Mr President. The President approved a contract of $195m for maritime security, but there are people in the system sabotaging the contract because it will restore security in the water. I won’t say who they are until it gets out of control. We are still battling for the contract to take place, but if it gets out of place, we will name them publicly, including the security people involved.
“There are people who make billions of Dollars from the insecurity on the water, so they don’t want security on the water because if we secure the water, all their rubbish will go.
“There are businesses which provide the vessel for oil companies in the name of providing security. The moment we secure the water, they are out of jobs?

Beating for your son for playing football? My God.
Someone please remind him how much Neymar is worth per week!!! Kaii
There is another angle to look at this… No father in his right mind would do this to his own son!!! This is a clear case MENTAL ILLNESS/TRUMA probably due to the nature of his work. I am not a psychologist but I know in that in Nigeria we lack the culture of looking out for the signs of mental fatigue amongst our workers in all sector. Military /Paramilitary have no proper way of been evaluated for any form of work trauma. This man could be having or experiencing trauma as the result of the nature of his job. May God help him and his family.
