During the briefing, the commissioner stated that there are many plans the ministry has in store for the people of Akwa Ibom State as encapsulated in the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno. He noted that the reason he invited Journalists for theory was to share the ambitions, vision, and actions of the Ministry for Lands for Akwa Ibom people.
“I called you for this media briefing to seek your cooperation, understanding, relationship, and advice as a way of symbiotic responsibility to ensure that the intentions of the Government are translated properly to enable the welfare, sustainability, and promotion of livelihood of our people in Akwa Ibom State,” Captain Ekong stated.
Ekong, in his brief, notified the Press that Dakkada Luxury Estate is ready for use, but remains provision of sites and services.
According to him, “Dakkada Luxury Estate is ready. What is remaining now for the government to do is the provision of Sites and Services. That is the provision of Water, Power, Church, Fire Service, Police Station, etc.
“Payment for 385 plots has been made and allocated. The Estate is secured because it is 100% fenced. What is remaining are the common services left to be provided. When retrieving the land from those who had not used it for years, Government will now lease it or be used it for Industrial Layout. For those that will do business there, over the nment will award contracts to individual entrepreneurs like Shoemakers, Tailors, Craftsmen, etc, to enhance their business so as to deliver quality services for the Akwa Ibom People.

Beware Of Parody Twitter (X) Handles – Akpabio
The Office of the President of the Senate wishes to alert the public on the existence of Parody X Handles purported to belong to Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate.
The offending Parody X Handles are bearing “Senate President Godswill Akpabio @ oficialGAkpabio” with various messages on the proceedings of the Senate President Godswill Akpabio at plenary sessions.
For clarity, the verified X Handles of the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio are “President of the Senate @SPNigeria…Official account of the office of the President of the Senate, Federal Republic of Nigeria” and @Senator_Akpabio, which is his personal account.
The Senate President therefore denounces the Parody X Handles and urges the public to disregard them.
All X Handles other than the official, authentic and verified X Handles of the President of the Senate are unauthorized.
The Senate President is not unaware of some elements who must have created these Parody X Handles, apparently to use it for the dissemination of fake news and information that would cause public disaffection and ill will.
However, the Senate President wishes to assure well meaning Nigerians that no amount of distraction and mischief will make him abandon the cause of offering genuine leadership to the 10th Senate and collaborating with the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to drive the Renewed Hope Agenda and reset the country so that the common man will enjoy the dividends of good governance.

Commission Orders Akwa Ibom State Government To Change School Board Nomenclature

THE Executive Secretary, National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC), Dr Iyela Ajayi, has called on Akwa Ibom State to change the nomenclature of State Secondary Education Board (SSEB) to State Senior Secondary Education Board (SSSEB).
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the commission’s Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Fatima Bappare, in Abuja on Friday.
Bappare said Ajayi made the demand while speaking with the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Dr Akon Eyakenyi, during a courtesy call.
He explained that Section 21, sub-section 2 of the NSSEC Act 2003, provided for states to comply by establishing SSEBs.
He said the Act also directed states to contribute at least five per cent as the counterpart funding to qualify for the NSSEC intervention fund.
Ajayi further stressed the need for state SSEBs to be represented on the national body with the composition and functions as provided in the Act.
This, he said, would assist in fast tracking legislative processes as well as drafting and passage of the Executive Bill by the State Houses of Assembly, uniformity of all SSSEB Laws, and elimination of any contradicting provision that would exclude states from benefiting from the NSSEC fund.
“Establishment of the state Senior Secondary Education Boards will also give room for smooth implementation of NSSEC functions and mandate in all states,” he said.
Ajayi also appealed to the Akwa Ibom State government to provide a furnished office for use as the commission’s provisional office, as well as land in Uyo for the commission to erect its South-South zonal office.
Responding, the Deputy Governor, Eyakenyi, expressed the state government’s willingness to collaborate with the commission.
She further disclosed that land had already been earmarked for the SSSEB in Uyo, while assuring the commission that Akwa Ibom State was adequately prepared to draft and pass the Executive Bill while the State House of Assembly was also ready for its speedy passage.

Senate Is Stable & Harmonious, No Plans To Impeach Me – Akpabio

The Nigerian Senate under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Godswill Akpabio is stable and harmonious and cannot be distracted by the innuendo of the merchants of political tar brush by what appears to be a syndicated media attack from outside the precincts of the National Assembly, Hon Eseme Eyiboh, Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to the President of the Senate has said.
Reacting to syndicated reports in some weekend newspapers about plots to distabilise the Senate and its leadership, Eyiboh said the reports were complete imaginations and sometimes laced with malice to achieve what senators are yet to comprehend.
Noting that the Senate has since gone past the experience of the keenly contested leadership election, Eyiboh said the plot to drag in Senators who initially did not support the emergence of the present leadership into a conspiracy that does not exist was uncharitable to the senators and a needless umbrage.
“Senators are presently concluding their holidays in their constituencies and other places they have chosen to spend their time after the rigours of the inauguration and ministerial screening and other constructive engagements,” Eyiboh said.
“All senators are also refreshing themselves ahead of the resumption, therefore, any suggestions that they are presently engaged in other subversive plots against the institution is rather uncharitable. It is mostly uncharitable for those senators who initially did not support the emergence of the leadership but who have all unanimously endorsed the Senator Akpabio-led leadership. Continuing to link these senators with needless conspiracy with barely disguised innuendo is rather unkind.
“We call on the media not to give in to the conspiratorial tales, and not to give damage to the reputations that they have built over time,” Eyiboh concluded.
