Encomiums continue to pour in for the member representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon (Obong) Emmanuel Ukpong-udo as Chairmen of Ward Elders Forum in Ikono Local Government Area today passed a vote of confidence on him for his stellar performance in his few months so far in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly.
The Chairmen Forum was today inaugurated after due process of nominations and elections during a courtesy call on the Federal Lawmaker at his Uyo residence. The 5-man executive of the forum which has Obong Mike Ene of ward 1 as Chairman, Akparawa Charles Umoh of Ward 9, as Vice Chairman, as well as a Secretary, a Public Relations Officer and a Welfare Officer.
The Ikono/Ini representative who is also a member of the forum doubles as Chairman of Ikono Ward 8 Elders Forum, a position he had held since 2015.
The Chairmen expressed utmost satisfaction with the conduct, style of leadership and representation Ukpong-udo had brought to bear, describing it as unprecedented in the history of the constituency. They extolled the Ikono/Ini Rep for his selflessness and continuous show of humanity as expressed in the life-touching programmes he had so far initiated for the benefit of the people.
Hon. Ukpong-udo in his response thanked the group for the huge honour done him and promised to work assiduously as a member of the forum to reposition the group and ensure it remains viable, united and relevant in the scheme of things. He reiterated his commitment to delivering dividends of effective representation to Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency.
