Breaking News;

Coach Edward Green has said goodbye to Uyo-based NPFL team, Akwa United. In a message he posted on his Facebook handle, the young coach who recently completed UEFA badges expressed gratitude to the 2021 NPFL Champions for 5-years of service.

The message read;

#GRATITUDE Akwa United Football Club, Uyo

It is not easy to say goodbye to what has been my house for the last 5 years but this time is perfect to start a new chapter in my career… It’s tough, but I always envisaged leaving on the right terms, in the right way and at the right time.

It has been 5 years full of emotions of great moments and some other more bitter ones, but not a single day has gone by without me stopping to think about how lucky I have been to work for this club (Akwa United).

For 5 years this club has been part of my life, it has given me the platform to compete against the best, we have break record after record and win trophies.

I want to thank God almighty for the gift of life, my family for standing by me, the leadership of Akwa United led by (SSG ELDER PAUL BASSEY), the fans and all the coaches I have work under since 18th April 2018, I also want to send a message of gratitude to all Akwa United employees for the way they have treated me…… of course to the players who have been exemplary in their behavior and faithful to the idea raised. I’m sorry I couldn’t help more.

I have already experienced a lot in football, but I have enjoyed and learned a lot. It’s time to say goodbye and in this case just a little reflection what the team need is support.

I know I will be back in this fortress (nest of champion) when the time is come for now let’s embrace the hardest word “Goodbye” my darling team
