Akwa Ibom Guber race 2019: Why Udom Emmanuel’s victory is sure

Gubernatorial election has been scheduled for March next year, and they’ve been mixed feelings on who will emerge victorious between Deacon Udom Emmanuel Gabriel and Obong Nsima Ekere. Truth is, we hope the owner of the universe will tarry in His visit. If so, there’s every likelihood that, the incumbent Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Deacon Udom Emmanuel Gabriel will continue with a second term in office against all the combined forces of Federal might, utotor and warsaw.

Among the reasons this will happen, stems from the fact that, the peace that eluded the state between 2007/2015, has become a norm, and so, the people that were affected most, the Church in Uyo are now conducting their business unhindered. This is why the church as a body, have cried that, “afflictions shall not arise a second time “.

This sitting Governor will return because, the defection of Godswill Akpabio to APC has unsettled the plans and successes achieved before his arrival. An aspirant of APC swore to me that, they’ll all vote Udom Emmanuel, to “teach APC a lesson”. We can see the unfolding of this fact through the defection of almost all Chapter Excos, Ward Excos and indeed over 2500 APC members into the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Everywhere APC had structures, the uncommon transformer’s entry undid all, leaving the party with bitter tastes in their mouths. Streetwise consensus is that, if Nsima Ekere, the APC Gubernatorial candidate was staking his reputation, there would have been a real battle, the braggadocio of Godswill Akpabio.

Most people in Akwa Ibom State are done with this kind of era: that era where tyrany was allowed to dine with kings and queens. That era where nepotism was allowed to wine with king makers, that era where kidnapping, assassination, legalization of cults activism were given free hands to colonize the crannies of our lands.

Outside the above mentioned anti-societal developmental activities, imposition was the order of the day. Lives were destroyed for the purpose of successfully imposing on the populace the candidate(s) they the political lords desire. Take for example the primaries of APC in the state few months back. Lives were lost in the process, and even though the process was declared by inconclusive by the party, candidates forced on the people were announced. This again is a relic of our locust years.

PDP in Akwa Ibom State with all indications are strategic and concerned about the welfare of the people. If we take our minds back to the PDP primaries few months back, we would attest to the fact that it was all free, fair and transparence. The delegates were given free hands to vote whosoever they believe would represent effectively. This transparency is one major thing lacking in APC.

Again, the obvious confrontation from the camp of the NDDC CEO, regarding projects in AKS isn’t resonating with responsible adult in the state. The expectations are that, the Federal agency, should have partnered as the provision is, with the state government in determining strategic and important infrastructure to move the state forward, instead of the former behaving like another Governor of the state.

Being more realistic, the NDDC under the leadership of Obong Nsima Ekere has failed the entire nation woefully. This is the first time that in 3years, the Commission is yet to execute a project in any of the 9 Niger Delta states. The few they’re bragging to have executed are mysterious, they not even exist on television, but exist only on social media, facebook to be certained.

The MD of NDDC, Obong Nsima Ekere is only known for fraudulent acts. He would want to use any position he finds himself, to create self-wealth. This was our fate when he was the Chairman of AKIPOC, MD of Ibom Power Company, and also, the Deputy Governor of the State Where a full month allocation of the State vanished into thin air.

The people of Akwa Ibom State are desirous of the tranquillity that was in the state before the coming of Godswill Akpabio/Nsima Ekere and whoever is offering that peace and transparency, they have elected to petitions their Maker for the best. So, the battle to return Udom Emmanuel is actually a spiritual one, not for Udom Emmanuel himself, but, for the future of the Akwa Ibom people.
