The Senator representing Uyo Senatorial district, Sen. Bassey Albert (OBA), has revealed what will befall frontline APC leaders in the state if Obong Nsima Ekere eventually emerge winner of the 2019 gubernatorial elections.
The senator said this on Wednesday at Health Center, Afaha Offiong, in Nsit Ibom LGA, for Nsit Ibom youth submit 2019, a program organized by the immediate past chairman of Nsit Ibom, Hon. Victor Umondak, to sensitise the people on how to vote in the forthcoming general elections.
Senator Albert noted that Governor Udom Emmanuel is the only leader that has whole heartedly taken Akwa Ibom State back to God.
He was quoted saying, “Just as God commanded the biblical Abraham to leave his father’s land to a strange land, and he obeyed, Governor Udom Emmanuel has heeded the clarion call from God to redeem the state from the dark days.
“My connection to Udom Emmanuel is highly spiritual, not based on any interest. I cannot betray my people even in the face of intimidation.”
The senator reeled out his annoyance with the unreasonable decisions made by Umana Umana and Senator James Udoedehe, saying that posterity will never be fair to the duo politicians who shamelessly wants to mortgage the zoning system for their personal interest.
“In Uyo senatorial district, a time will come when we will look at the likes of Udoedehe and Umana Umana and say “listen you did not defend the interest of your people.”
He went on to say that when he wants to effect corrections he is not always afraid to mention names in order to keep records.
He intimated the teeming crowd that Nsima Ekere can never be satisfied with a single term in office, stressing that he will certainly abuse the privilege and force his way to a second term.
In his words, “you will be the first target, Umana Umana will be the first target of Nsima Ekere’s governorship, Udoedehe will be the first target of Nsima Ekere’s governorship. We have to Fight to liberate them and they shall be free indeed.” he proclaimed.
He ended by advising that politicians should put the people’s interest first before their personal interest.
The speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Barr. Onofiok Luke, who is vying to represent the people of Etinan Federal Constituency, which Nsit Ibom is among also said “I am a voice you can depend on. I’m ruled by the power of conviction. I believe in the capacity of Sen. Bassey Albert to represent Uyo people at the National Assembly.”
He urged the people of Nsit Ibom to go and vote for Udom Emmanuel and all other PDP candidates without any fear of intimidation, using their index finger.
The convener of the submit Hon. Umondak in his speech earlier had thanked the people for coming out en masse, he reminded them about the need to vote for Governor Udom Emmanuel and why he should return to office as governor of the state come 2nd March.
