Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, Prince Ukpong Akpabio has said, the prayers of Governor Udom Emmanuel helped and shielded him from arrest and other forms of arms brought against him during the March 9th 2019 Gubernatorial/House of Assembly elections.
Prince Ukpong Akpabio made this known in Uyo while fielding questions on a Ministry of Information and Strategy sponsored Live AKBC 90.5 FM Radio programme – Update Akwa Ibom.
He said, before embarking on the elections, Governor Udom Emmanuel personally prayed for stakeholders in the PDP family and handed them into the mighty protective hands of the Almighty God as their help and shield.
“It was only God that helped and shielded me from the gun and arms that they brought against me as they could not find me. Infact I laughed at most of their actions because I knew that only God will prevail in the elections”, Prince Akpabio said.
“Where they actually lost, was when they were so confused not to know that power and authority only come from God. We went into the election clean and came out clean, with an overwhelming victory, with only God on our side”, he added.
The Investment Boss recalled that, as the PDP stakeholders finished the prayers and made to leave, Governor Emmanuel had stopped them by the door and warned that, nobody should carry gun or any form of arms into the elections, advising that, should the opponents come against them with arms, they should just maintain their calm and smile at them.
Emphasizing that, the prayers and advice of the Governor paid-off handsomely with a peaceful and successful election in the State, Prince Ukpong Akpabio said, the PDP family went into the elections with total commitment and trust in God without anything fetish or oath taking.
The Commissioner who described Governor Udom Emmanuel as a very peaceful and God-fearing leader with outstanding capacity, committed to the development of the state reiterated that, he chose the Governor for the interest of peace, unity and prosperity of the people of Akwa Ibom State.
He used the occasion to thank all Akwa Ibom people for the love showed to Governor Udom Emmanuel at the elections and urged them to continue to support the Governor to enable him deliver more in his second term in office.
“I thank the people of the state immensely for their love for the Governor as expressed at the elections. The Governor has delivered successfully on the 5-Point Agenda of his first term in office. I urge all to support him as he embarks on the 8-point Completion Agenda for the benefit of the people during his second term in office”, Prince Ukpong Akpabio concluded.
