Eni group founder and SSA to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Micro-Finance And Enterprise Development, Mr Ime Uwa has commended the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Deacon Udom Emmanuel for creating what he termed “an enterprise friendly environment” in Akwa Ibom State. Uwah said this on a telephone interview with newsmen shortly after being conferred with the NUJ Entrepreneurial Role Model Award by the Akwa Ibom State Council of the NUJ on Friday, 7th November 2018.
Uwah said the state Governor through his numerous enterprise friendly policies had made it easy for enterprise to thrive under his administration. He listed the policies to include the “Dakkada Philosophy”, massive infrastructural development, provision of basic social amenities, provision of interest free loans, agricultural loans as well as trainings and technical support services.
The politician cum entrepreneur said the state has witnessed an upward surge in the number of SMEs in the past three years, a development he attributed to good governance, business friendly policies and a peaceful environment. He therefore urged all entrepreneurs in the state to join hands and ensure that Mr Udom Emmanuel is returned for a second tenure in office so as to consolidate on the gains recorded in the business sector.
Speaking on the NUJ award, Uwah thanked the state council of NUJ for deeming him fit for the award. While dedicating the award to his boss, Mr Udom Emmanuel, Uwah promised to use his office as SSA on Micro-Finance and Enterprise Development to support more SMEs in the state.
Uwah was awarded alongside Mr Sonni Anyang as Entrepreneurial Role Models in Akwa Ibom State as part of activities to end the 2018 NUJ week in the state.
