The Councillor of ward 6 Nkwot, Ikono Local Government Area, Hon Anwanga-Abasi Udofia alongside the Special Adviser to the Executive chairman of the council on Inter-governmental Relations Hon. John Denis Asanga, yesterday 17th January, consulted all the village heads in the ward to seek support for Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The event which was convened at the palace of Etteidung Isidore Uba, chairman of Village heads in the area, had in attendance all the 14 village heads who were glad to receive the duo into their mist.
Hon. Anwanga-Abasi Udofia, thanked the village heads for the undaunted support they have received so far, he praised them for being catalysts of peace in their individual villages.
He went ahead to appeal to them to massively mobilize people to vote for Deacon Udom Emmanuel and all PDP candidates during the forthcoming general elections.
Hon. John Denis Asanga on his part thanked the village heads for the warm reception and for having faith in the present government headed by Deacon Udom Emmanuel, he highlighted the projects executed by the governor in Ikono Local government, which include 4.6 Kilometer road at Nung Ukim, rehabilitation of the moribund General Hospital Ikono, renovation of schools and appointment of Ikono sons into various political offices and boards.
Hon. John, the progenitor of G17 Nkwot ward 6, whose mobilization capacity is second to none in the ward pleaded with the traditional rulers to sustain the relationship between the government and traditional rulers, stating that it breeds development and growth.
“We are in election times, you all are opinion leaders in your different villages, politics is being played most in the villages because that’s where the votes come from, i implore you all to go back to your community and work for the governor who has brought back to the state relative peace and development”, he opined.
Also the SA briefed and mentioned the good works of the present government to include the WASH programme by UNICEF which ward 6 has benefited, water projects sighted at Nung Imo, and two water projects sighted at Ikot Umoh, the home community of the APC house of Assembly candidate Hon. Kenny Eka
In his response, the village head of Ikot Nseyen, Etteidung Godwin Uba, who is also the Chairman of Nkwot village heads promised to continue supporting the present government in the area and promised to vote for Governor Udom Emmanuel and other PDP candidates. He used the opportunity to appeal to Governor Udom Emmanuel to return the favour he will get from ward 6 by constructing Nkwot Urua Naira road he had promised the region.

Chief Uba led other village heads to pray and bless the duo after passing a vote of confidence on them. The event ended in a soiree, made possible by the Councillor and Special Adviser to the government.
