Former Nigerian Vice president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has called the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, a joke, criticizing it for locking down Lagos, Abuja and Ogun state and sharing money in Nasarawa state.

“You locked down Lagos, Abuja and Ogun state and started sharing money in Nassarawa state.. @MBuhari Government na joke” Atiku tweeted.

Buhari during the nationwide broadcast on Sunday, directed Abuja, Lagos and Ogun state be lockdown for 14 days.

An action the president said was to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.

The president also directed that poor Nigerians should be paid as a palliative to enable them to survive the 14 days lockdown.

Responding to the presidential directive, Sadiya Farouq, Nigeria’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, had since on Wednesday begun sharing the sum of N20k to the poorest Nigerians as a palliative to coronavirus lockdown order from the federal government.

Atiku has since faulted the government for sharing money in Nasarawa, a state that is not under lockdown.
