The winning margin of PDP in Ikono Local Government in the fast approaching general elections increases, as former ward chairman of Ward 8 Ndiya Usung Ikot Idaha, Aniekan Sunday Obot joins the Peoples Democratic Party. Mr Aniekan disclosed that he had mistakenly rented out his property to APC to use as ward office, thinking that they mean well for the people of the area, that henceforth he has asked them to vacate the premises.
The former APC man presented a letter dated Sunday, 20th January 2018, which he addressed to the PDP ward chairman of the ward, Sgt Samuel Akpan (Rtd), Mr Aniekan begging for forgiveness in the letter saying he has realized the mistake he made and he is willing to effect correction.
The returnee pleaded with the Peoples Democratic Party to accept him back as a prodigal son, while pledging maximum support to Governor Udom Emmanuel, Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo (Macaire), the Federal House of Reps PDP flag bearer for Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency and other PDP flag bearers in the area.
“Since, we are all Christians and have sinned and gone short of the glory of God in one way or the other, I hereby wish you use your good office and temper justice with mercy accept me back as a prodigal son in the bible who was forgiven by the father.”
He thereby pleaded to be reinstated as member by the party, stating that he is back home to where he belong;
“I wish to use this medium to please state to you that PDP was my party and will remain my party forever, so please think about the past goodness and relationship and let it wash away my wrongful deeds.” he said.
After due process and consideration, Mr Obot was accepted and received by Sgt. Samuel Akpan (rtd) the PDP Ward Chairman, who applauded his courageous and brilliant resolve, promising his immediate inclusion in the party’s activities.
