A’Ibom Governorship: UKANAFUN LAWMAKER DIVULGES WHY UDOM DESERVES 2ND TERM

As the political clock ticks towards the governorship election slated for March 2, member representing Ukanafun State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon Otobong Akpan has stated emphatically that, “it is only fair and just to accord Governor Udom Emmanuel the needed support to complete the well deserved second tenure”.

The lawmaker who was speaking to newsmen, Friday, as the governor’s second term campaign train arrived at St Patrick’s Primary School, Urua Inyang, headquarters of Ika Local Government Area, assured that his people in Ukanafun who share common boundary with Ika, had since taken unanimous decision to support and vote massively for Governor Emmanuel again in 2019, adding that “the message is crystal clear that our dear governor will remain at the Hiltop Mansion till 2023″.

Answering a reporter’s question on why Akwa Ibom people should re-elect Emmanuel, Hon Akpan who chairs committee on Lands and Housing, said, “for his conscientious effort in returning peace and tranquility to the hitherto warring Ukanafun, my constituents are grateful”. He added that, “the governor’s pragmatism, doggedness and genuine love for my people in particular and Akwa Ibom State as a whole is topnotch”.

He hinted that his constituents were grateful to Governor Emmanuel for the ongoing construction of a 15km road in his area, which traverses Ikot Akpan Afaha, Ikot Oku Usung and Ikot Akai. Others include: Ikot Etim, Idung Nneke, Ikot udombang, Ikot Utiat, Ikot Ikang and several other communities.

Hon Otobong Akpan, a former aspirant for Oruk Anam/Ukanafun Federal Constituency, used the occasion and called on all Akwa Ibomites to support Governor Udom Emmanuel to complete the second tenure zoned to Eket Senatorial District so that Uyo can have their turn in 2023.
